Privacy Policy
ShopsAroundU (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides a technology platform that connects customers directly with shop owners so customers can get products and services from shops in nearby places. Shop owners may also register delivery boys / delivery partners to fulfil their own orders. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Roles and responsibility for data in orders
- ShopsAroundU processes account, app, and platform data needed to run the connection service.
- Shop owners control their shop listings, product and price information, order fulfilment, and the delivery partners they register. Product quality, pricing accuracy, and delivery conduct are the shop owner’s responsibility as described in our Terms.
- Delivery partners are registered by shop owners; location and delivery activity data related to a job may be shared with the shop and the customer for that order.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
- Phone number, name, email, and login credentials used to create and access accounts
- Delivery addresses and location pins you save for orders
- Shop profile details for shop owners (shop name, address, licences, contact information)
- Delivery partner details registered by a shop owner
- Device identifiers and push notification tokens
Order and transaction information
- Orders, cart contents, subscriptions, payment-related status, and delivery preferences
- Product and price data entered by shop owners (ShopsAroundU does not set shop product prices)
- Communication needed to fulfil orders (for example phone numbers for delivery coordination between customer, shop, and delivery partner)
Location information
- Approximate or precise location when you grant permission (for nearby shops, serviceability, maps, and delivery tracking)
- For delivery partners registered by a shop: live location while online or on an active job, shared as needed with that shop and the customer for the order
Device, app, and consent audit information
- App version, platform (Android, iOS, web), device model, and OS version
- Crash logs, performance diagnostics, and basic usage analytics
- Records of your acceptance of Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy (versions, timestamp, role, and device/app metadata) for compliance
3. How we use information
- Authenticate users and operate customer, shop owner, and delivery partner accounts
- Connect customers with nearby shop owners and support order / notification workflows on the platform
- Enable shop owners to manage products, prices, orders, and the delivery partners they register
- Improve reliability, security, and customer support for the platform
- Meet legal, audit, and compliance obligations (including consent records)
4. Legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our contract with you (providing the connection platform), with your consent (for example legal document acceptance and certain device permissions), for legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, and to comply with legal obligations.
5. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Shop owners and customers: details needed so they can complete a direct shop–customer transaction arranged through the platform
- Delivery partners registered by a shop: order and location details needed to deliver that shop’s orders
- Service providers: infrastructure such as Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication, database, storage, messaging, and maps
- Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the platform
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
We retain account, order, and consent records for as long as needed to operate the platform, resolve disputes, meet legal requirements, and maintain business records. You may request deletion of account data subject to lawful retention needs (including records a shop may need for completed orders).
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), authenticated access, and access controls on our cloud services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please protect your device and login credentials.
8. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region).
9. Your choices and rights
- Update profile and address details in the Apps where available
- Manage location, camera, phone, or notification permissions in system settings
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us
- For product, price, or delivery disputes, contact the shop owner who fulfilled the order
10. International processing
Our service providers may process data in India and other countries where their servers are located. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When the version changes, you may be required to review and accept the updated policy before continuing to use the Apps. The version and “Last updated” date at the top will change when we publish revisions.
